Interlocking Pavers
Interlocking pavers are paving stones that lock together with the use of sand below and in between them. The sand creates friction in the joints which binds the pavers together. This locking system creates a stronger and more stable bond than other pavers because it restricts movement and slipping. It also disperses weight to a larger area so it can easily handle the weight of any vehicle in a driveway. The lock is so strong that mortar is not required unlike other pavers. Interlocking pavers were created 2000 years ago by the Romans. They used it in the construction of their roads which still exist today. A paving system that can last that long is perfect for your driveway or patio.
Interlocking Paver Colors and Shapes
Interlocking pavers come in a multitude of colors and shapes. You may want to pick a single color or several colors to create designs just make sure it matches your home and blends in seamlessly. Paver colors to choose range from Tan, Brown, Black, Grays, Red, and Blues. There are also multi-colored pavers that have several hues within one paver. When choosing a color you should also consider the environment it’ll be installed in. If the area is dark and shady, consider using light colored pavers. The light color will reflect the sunlight and make the area look bigger. It goes the opposite way with the dark colors. Darker hues absorb sunlight and make the area look smaller.
Interlocking pavers are modular and come in a variety of shapes which means that they easily come together to form geometric designs like circles, spirals, and fan shapes. The different pavers shapes to choose from are: square, rectangle, octagon, hexagon, fans, X-shaped, W-shaped, and many more. If you don’t want a geometric design then you can choose from several patterns like Herringbone, Spanish Bond, Basket Weave, Coursed Running Bond, and many more. Add a different solid color paver as a border to frame whatever pattern you choose.
If you find yourself overwhelmed by the many options; ask our designers which pavers are the best choice to complement the architecture and landscaping of your home or business.
