Asphalt Striping In San Antonio
When people visit your business, the first thing they experience is the parking lot. A clean and well marked parking lot is a convenience and a safety measure that your customers will appreciate. Lovell Construction Group, LLC offers a wide range of striping options for freshly paved asphalt, asphalt that has been recently seal coated, and re-striping faded markers.
Parking lot striping may seem like a simple job that anyone can do but for accuracy and quality; you’ll want to hire experienced professionals with the best equipment, proper painting materials, and a real understanding of city codes and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards and guidelines. Your customers’ safety is at risk and you will be heavily fined if your parking lot isn’t up to code. Also, knowledge of the average car, SUV, and truck sizes are important so we can create parking spots that are clearly defined with the proper dimensions to prevent damage to vehicles.
Our team at Lovell Construction Group, LLC will measure your parking area and discuss the volume of traffic you receive, the traffic situation around your business, and what requirements your customers need, to determine how to best mark your parking lot. We will analyze and figure out the best layout for you and your customers and keep your business up to code.
Stripes, Markers and Stenciling in Parking Lots
Professional line striping and markers assists employees, visitors, delivery drivers, and firefighters in the safe use of your parking lot with the following markers.
Stripes and Markers for Roadways
Streets and highways need striping and markers as well for safety and traffic flow. We see them every day and abide by them but probably don’t realize how many markers there actually are. The most common stripes and stenciling we see are:
Asphalt Striping Paints
Striping paints come in several different colors like white, yellow, red, blue, green, and more. Certain markings require their own signature color such as; white or yellow for parking spaces, blue for handicap spaces and red for fire lanes. The paint we use for asphalt striping is professional grade traffic paint. This type of paint is designed to adhere to asphalt and withstand weather and being driven over repeatedly. Any other kind of household or spray paint would fade within a few months and leave your parking lot blank and dangerous for your visitors.
Another kind of “paint” we use is molten thermoplastic road paint. It starts off as a powder that gets heated until it melts; at that point it is sprayed onto the road surface. It cools and hardens in a few minutes and then is ready to be driven on. Reflective glass beads are added to molten thermoplastic paint to give it a texture so it won’t be slippery in wet weather. The glass beads also reflect light at night making it easier to see road lanes and markings.
Check your asphalt striping and markers annually for fading even though they should last for 2 to 3 years. Their longevity really depends on the amount of traffic it has to handle and elements of weather. If you feel you need a re-striping; try to do so in the spring. Asphalt can take a hard hit in the winter so re-striping, patching, and seal coating are recommended for springtime.
